The first mention of the lake dates back to 1484, when the Bishop of Chur, Ortlieb von Brandis, had a fish pond built in its northern part.<\/p>\n\n<p>In 1881, the diocese sold the lake to the \u201cHaidsee-Konsortium Br\u00fcgger &amp; Meier\u201d for 12,000 francs. The driving force behind this consortium was the Churwalden hoteliers Johann Br\u00fcgger-Battaglia and his son Georg Br\u00fcgger-Vieli. They enlarged the lake and built a \u201cfisherman&#8217;s hut\u201d on an island, known as the Insel-Ch\u00e2let. Guests could eat and stay overnight here. Johann and Georg Br\u00fcgger thus laid the foundations for tourism in Maiens\u00e4ssweiler Canols (now Valbella) and created the \u201cscenic jewel\u201d of the high valley with the lake dam.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heidsee#cite_note-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">[1]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Story Hotel Seehof<\/h2>\n\n<p> 1904 Founding of the &#8220;Tuffsteinbetrieb&#8221; (tuff stone works) partnership<br\/>1905 Planned for electricity production for the Lenzerheide spa hotel (accommodation for workers)<br\/>1907 Electricity plant, hotel spa hotel with a small restaurant and some guest beds<br\/>1928 A private individual acquires the guesthouse<br\/>1929 Expansion of the guesthouse by 23 beds<br\/>1931 Fire<br\/>1934 Takeover of the derelict building by a family-owned hotel company<br\/>50 years of family operation<br\/>1988 Fire<br\/>Reconstruction<br\/>Since 1991 Hotel operation ensured by the current owner family<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Experience the magic of summer right on the shores of Lake Heidsee at an altitude of 1,500 meters.
